Bear mattresses are made with CertiPUR-US® certified foams, meaning they’re free from harmful chemicals like heavy metals, formaldehyde, and certain flame retardants, while also meeting strict standards for low emissions and durability.
The CertiPUR-US® program uses independent, accredited laboratories to assess polyurethane foam. They run small chamber tests standardized by the International Organization for Standardization, and certified foams must meet strict criteria for content, emissions, and durability. CertiPUR-US® certified foams are:
-Made without ozone depleters
-Made without PBDEs, TDCPP, or TCEP (Tris) flame retardants
-Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals
-Made without formaldehyde
-Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
-Low VOC (volatile organic compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)
Select models are also GREENGUARD Gold Certified, which means they’ve been tested to meet even stricter standards for low VOC emissions, helping support cleaner indoor air.
Products with GREENGUARD certification by UL Solutions are tested and proven to have low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions. While GREENGUARD certified products meet industry standards, products with GREENGUARD Gold certification meet even stricter criteria and emit even lower levels of VOCs.
Plus, all Bear mattresses are fiberglass-free, so you can sleep with added peace of mind.
